The cost of the Mini-MBA program is £2100 / $2400 / €2100 inclusive of taxes. This can be split into three payments throughout the program.

The Course

The Mini-MBA contain six modules, each delivered over one month. Click into a module to explore the learning objectives.

Module 1: Business Model for Food Chains

  • Learn the Competitive value proposition tool design and apply it to their specific case context
  • Learn how to design distribution strategy that is aligned with the value proposition
  • Learn the approach and mechanisms that align the risk-rewards for the supply chain
  • Learn to review the sustainability elements in the context of the value chain

Module 2: Value out of Food Losses & Waste

  • Learn to design the waste stream mapping and applying it to their business context
  • Learn to apply the lean production management to food production and distribution
  • Learn to review and apply technologies to create circular and disruptive supply chains

Module 3: Food Product Innovation & Compliance

  • Learn the tools (such as design thinking) to create the right food product innovations and their connection with competitive and sustainable supply chains
  • Understand the fundamentals of food product formulation to be able to design an executable value proposition
  • Design the right processes to ensure supply chain wide safety and transparency

Module 4: Food Retail and Consumer-Side Developments

  • Learn the distribution and retail trend patterns and map them appropriately to the specific business context
  • Learn the approaches to interact with consumers/shopper and leverage that data for fine-tuning and re-defining value proposition

Module 5: Sustainable Sourcing and Logisitics

  • Learn and apply supplier selection frameworks
  • Learn and apply supplier risk management tools
  • Learn and apply Spend management tools
  • Learn about and apply Cold chain logistics innovations and last mile logistics innovations

Module 6: Managing Data, Resources and Social Elements

  • Learn to apply the analytical tools that fit the food supply chain needs
  • Learn the role of water in food and understand frameworks for better water management in food
  • Learn the tools and developments that can enable packaging contributing to the supply chain sustainability
  • Learn the innovations in energy management along the entire food supply chain
  • Learn the people challenges that needs careful planning not just for the business but for the supply chain
  • Learn the financing tools that ensure supply chain wide finance sustainability

Overall Learning Objectives

Knowledge and understanding

  • Learners will develop a system level understanding of the supply-demand dynamics of the food and agribusiness supply chains (all the way from agriculture inputs, food production, food processing, through to retail and the consumer)
  • Learners will develop an understanding of the technology, process and other innovations that enable businesses to build sustainable supply chains
  • Learners will have a good understanding of the global, environmental, social and ethical developments, dilemmas and challenges affecting the development of the food & agribusiness sectors

  • Learners will develop a sound understanding of the tools, frameworks, technologies and action then in a real-life business context
  • Learners can formulate the business challenges appropriately and work towards fixing them through appropriate execution tools and frameworks relevant for the business context

  • Learners are equipped to contribute to a sustainable food Supply chains within the 3-P (People, planet and profit) framework and inspire others in their working environment and professional networks to do the same

The Structure

During the first month, you will decide upon a practical project; this could be from a business or entrepreneurial venture. Each subsequent month, you will apply the tools, frameworks and learning from the module to the practical project. You will be supported in this with 1-to-1 mentoring sessions each month. This will require 10-15 hours of learning each month.

In addition, each module will contain the following elements:

  • 2 online lectures (3 hours total)
  • 2 online learning workshops (3 hours total)
  • 3 self-study action learning exercises (average of 6 hours total)

Discussion forums will be open and active every day during the six month period. The mentors and learning managers are always there to support.

In order to gain certification:

  1. Each learner will submit a final report addressing different module elements related to their practical project for expert review.
  2. Each learner will submit his/her “Personal Effectiveness Paper (PeP)” meeting the Business School Netherland guidelines
